Key benefits
Direct from bank account, no card details
Customers pay straight from their bank account via online or mobile banking. They don’t enter card numbers or verification codes, which reduces the risk of card-data theft and improves user trust.
Built on open banking standards & PSD2
Pay by Bank payments are processed in line with EU open-banking standards and PSD2 regulations, including Strong Customer Authentication (SCA). This means the bank itself verifies the customer using methods like biometrics or secure login.
Lower reliance on card rails
Because Pay by Bank uses account-to-account transfers instead of card schemes, it can help merchants reduce dependence on card networks and, in many cases, benefit from more predictable fees and settlement terms compared to traditional card payments.
Reduced chargeback risk
Payments are initiated and authorized directly in the customer’s bank environment as push transfers. That setup typically leads to fewer classic card-style chargebacks and disputes, since there is no stored card data and the payer must confirm each transaction with their bank.
One integration, multiple methods
Through Fenige’s API and PaymentHub you can enable Pay by Bank Account alongside cards, wallets, and BLIK in a single integration, instead of connecting separate providers for each method.
How Pay by Bank Account works
Customer selects Pay by Bank at checkout
On your website or in your app, the customer chooses Pay by Bank as the payment method.

Redirect to online or
mobile banking
Fenige redirects the customer to their bank’s online banking or mobile app, with the payment details (amount, recipient, reference) already filled in.

Customer confirms the payment with their bank
The customer logs in, reviews the details, and authorizes the transfer using the bank’s SCA flow (for example, biometrics or a one-time code).

Bank executes the transfer and sends confirmation
The bank executes the account-to-account transfer and sends a confirmation. Fenige passes a clear status back to your system so you can update the order in real time.
